Deanna Gardenhire Brown, MD, FAAD, is a native Chattanoogan and alumna of Girls Preparatory School. A graduate of Belmont University and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Dr. Brown completed her internship in Internal Medicine in Louisville, KY, followed by dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. She was named chief resident during her last year of training and obtained board certification through the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Brown then eagerly returned to her hometown and has practiced in the Chattanooga area since 2014.
A fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dr. Brown has published articles in dermatology journals, presented at national and regional meetings, and traveled to Washington, D.C., as a Capitol Hill advocate for dermatologists and their patients. She is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, Tennessee Dermatology Society, and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society. She currently serves on the CHI Memorial Melanoma Center of Excellence Committee in collaboration with other physicians treating melanoma in our community.
Dr. Brown enjoys taking care of a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including pediatric dermatology, general medical dermatology, and cosmetic/aesthetic dermatology. Outside of work, she is an avid supporter of Chattanooga Ballet and serves on the CHI Memorial Foundation Board of Directors. Dr. Brown was honored to be named to Chatter Magazine's "20 under 40" list in 2021. She also enjoys relaxing with her husband and two young children (if they ever let her sit down!)
